POST SURGERY

Well, we got through surgery but not without a few tense moments. Elijah received a nerve block in his shoulder and had an allergic reaction. I was asked to leave for the nerve block. After being allowed back in to wait with him I noticed red blotches and his lips started to swell. Since he had three different medications at that point they were unsure which one was causing the reaction. It took two doses of Benadryl but the swelling stopped and the blotches faded. Of course, I was compltely freaked out by this point. After reassuring me that they would keep a close eye on him and a talk between me and God it was off to surgery. An hour and a half surgery turns into three!
After a twelve hour trip to the hospital I got to bring my boy home and watch over him. He is doing pretty well considering they had to remove the pain pump. After the third or maybe fourth allergic reaction we figured out the culprit. Forunately we have been able to maintain a comfortable pain level so far. My guy went through a lot and was a trooper through it all. He will be sleeping in the recliner for some time and has a difficult recovery with physical therapy but so far so good! My boys and Jim are my life so any thought of something happening to them terrifies me. Thanks for the prayers and thanks to God for the answered prayers! Mom loves you and is very proud of you Bubby!
