JIM'S SURGERY

My poor baby had his nose surgery today to fix his deviated septum. He is in a good deal of pain but hopefully the end result will improve his quality of life. He will have the packing and splints taken out in 7 days. He will be down for 2 weeks though.
It has been very difficult keeping his little guys away from him. They want to lay in bed with Daddy and make sure he is okay. It is very sweet and their daddy is very patient! Hopefully his recovery will go by quickly. He definitely has great little guys looking after him.
I LOVE YOU BABY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELIJAH

We actually celebrated Elijah's birthday on Saturday since Anna came home for the weekend.

Isn't she ornery!
My little guy decided to see how many candles his piece of cake could hold.
Happy birthday Elijah!
It has been so awesome to be your mom! I am very proud of the young man that you have become!
I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, 21 month old Maddie Dancing

How precious is this little angel! What an amazing little doll she is to be this happy after 2 long days of chemo!

MADDIE UPDATE

Long week complete!
Posted 1 hour ago
We survived our last long week of chemo! It was so much better to do it in the clinic and to get to sleep in our beds at night. Maddie was a trooper. I cannot believe how well behaved she was considering having to sit in a small room for 8 hours a day (at least). Of course, we made many laps out in the hall, and played out in the main part of the infusion room also. It was a very long week, and I cannot thank my mom enough for all the help and putting up with us all week long. Maddie has had some pretty serious nausea and is feeling less energetic than normal. Maddie did absolutely great though, and now we are just staying close to home, knowing that her immunity will drop to zero before rebounding.
After her counts rebound, we will have more hard chemo, her last round before continuing maintenance! This chemo will be done in the hospital but it only requires a 2 or 3 night stay. Last time we had this chemo, it caused her to have a high fever and feel terrible, so I am hoping it goes better this time. Those are the common side effects of High Dose Ara-C though, so we will be prepared. Keep our little superstar in your prayers though. The further we are into this, the more her little bone marrow just seems to be worn out, so we hope it can rebound quickly.
Check out this new video of our princess dancing. This is after 8 hours of chemo at the clinic this week!

Love to everyone,
Liz, Brandon, and Maddie
