Usually we are given donations from local vendors to use in the bags. However, for some reason the vendors were less giving this year and we did not even have gift bags donated for us to stuff! Now the stress that I was feeling to pull this off was unbelievable. Not only did we need to come up with more than 200 gift bags but we also had to have the food and snacks to put in them. Jim and I made 2 trips to Sam's Club for the food and energy drinks and were blessed to have a local Burger King donate 200 of their bags. Also, I was determined to not have a repeat of last year needing the young Marines to stuff their own bags. The relief that I felt when we were able to successfully complete this task was awesome! Unfortunately the stress wore me down so much that today I am sick and have lost my voice. Oh well, I still feel wonderful for having gotten these Marines taken care of! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR MILITARY!
