JIM'S SURGERY

My poor baby had his nose surgery today to fix his deviated septum. He is in a good deal of pain but hopefully the end result will improve his quality of life. He will have the packing and splints taken out in 7 days. He will be down for 2 weeks though.
It has been very difficult keeping his little guys away from him. They want to lay in bed with Daddy and make sure he is okay. It is very sweet and their daddy is very patient! Hopefully his recovery will go by quickly. He definitely has great little guys looking after him.
I LOVE YOU BABY!

I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH!

JIM & TOOTSIE
For some reason Tootsie enjoys spending quality time with Jim on weekend mornings so she will jump her fat bottom up on the counter height chairs and sit with him while he has coffee.
I believe she thinks she is a person! It is quite funy to see her try to fit herself on this stool. Incidentally it is always the same stool that she gets on.

I wonder what they talk about?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DARLING

You are an amazing husband, father and best friend. We are truly blessed to have you in our lives! I hope you have a great day and your inspection goes well!

Since moving to NC 6 1/2 years ago one of the things that we both fell in love with were the sunsets. No matter what we are doing if we catch sight of one of these amazing sunsets we stop and enjoy the view together. I know that may sound korny to some but that is how we roll. Since the sun goes down before you will get home here are a couple of our amazing sunsets we love so much!
I LOVE YOU HHB!

JIM'S PORTRAIT
Sgt McCrohan, one of Jim's Marines from Camp Johnson, painted this portrait of him. He called Jim and asked him to re-enlist him and surprised him with this awesome painting. Jim was so touched and honored. He told Jim that his leadership and mentoring during his time at camp Johnson had meant so much to him and the other Marines at Combat Camera so they wanted to do something special for him. This Marine, a combat illustrator, has amazing talent and knocked this painting out in Just three days. Naturally I hung it in Jim's Marine room.
Several of his Marines and civilian Marines from Camp Johnson signed the back and were present for the presentation. This is such a huge testament to the kind of Marine and person he is. Of course, I know what an awesome man I have been blessed with having in my life.
I LOVE YOU HHB!

JUST FUN AND SILLINESS
Caleb loves wrestling Zach on the trampoline. Zach is a pretty awesome big brother!
Now what possessed this silly man to get up on the sun room roof nobody will know. We are not drinkers so no alcohol was involved. This is the silliness that I love sooo much though!
Gabe got quite upset at Daddy being on the roof and quickly got off the trampoline to go inside and coax him in. Caleb on the other hand decided Daddy had a great idea.
Now who does this gorgeous man belong to? Oh yeah, he's all mine!
Love you HHB! You make my heart sing!

JIMS CHANGE OF COMMAND

Sadly our time at Camp Johnson came to an end today with Jim's Change of Command.
It was beautiful weather by the water with Gunny Rice as Commander of Troops.
Janine with the Company Guidon.
The handing off of the Guidon representing the handing over of command.
It has been such an honor for Jim to be the CO of H&S Company for the past year. Most officers dream of having the chance to lead a command and many never get the opportunity. It is even more difficult for an Adjutant to achieve this.
Following the ceremony we had a gathering with food, drinks and cake ( awesome cake Janine, thanks). Jim was presented with the company Guidon (flag) which flew for the more than a year that he held command. This was also a great honor for him to receive. The plate in the center reads:
CAPT JAMES K. BARE
03 Aug 2004 - 18 May 2007
Your leadership will always be remembered.
Thanks for hookin' us up with SEPS Platoon!
From the Marines of H&S Company

This is the MAT miniature Guidon which was part of his command.
This is the Guard guidon which was also part of his command.
I was also presented with a gift that my good friend and Jims' awesome First Sgt Janine put together for me. This was a poster of some of the female Marines serving at Camp Johnson, most of which I know quite well and Janine is one of them. I bugged her for months asking her for an autographed copy, since she is now famous, and she had everyone autograph this one and added a plate that reads:
MARCY BARE
The First Lady of H&S Company
March 2006 - May 2007
We will miss you.
This meant alot to me because I was blessed having the opportunity to know some awesome people and make some really awesome friends. We will both always treasure our time at Camp Johnson!
THANKS JANINE!

As we left through the main gate we were given a farewell message from our Camp Johnson family.

OOHRAH and SEMPER FI!

We will miss you all!

Trampoline Fun

Daddy was standing on his hands and trying to do flips so our little Gabriel made sure that he showed Daddy the safety instructions. That's my boy!
Dogpile on the Daddy!
Daddy was trying to catch them as they ran by
